I’m pretty excited about this, folks....
Someone recently asked me what my dream job would be. If I could do what I loved doing, what would it be?
The answer to that is that I’d get to share my passion about the origins of magick with those who are interested, and I’d be able to do it in the setting I love most - the ancient Near Eastern wing of the Met.
The Sumerians didn’t just believe that their shrines represented the gods - they carried out long, intricately detailed rituals and invocations to actually make their temples houses where their gods literally reside. By doing this, they enabled those who visited the shrines to be in proximity to divinity, and absorb the deity’s energy as an act of communion. Just because those temples and altars are now in a museum, it doesn’t mean they cease to function.
I will be doing one on one tours of these holy artifacts in the Met - a place that I frequent several times a week. I will explain the meaning behind what we will be looking at. This truly is an act of initiation - an initiation into the history of the origins of magick.
The tour itself will take about an hour, and afterwards we’ll have coffee on the Great Balcony to discuss any questions you may have.
You can find tickets at the link in my bio.
Hope to see you soon!
