Day 87/100 Challenge
Girls! Talk about a throwback!
Do y’all remember the altered short/long sleeve crop top from the good olé 90’s-2000’s?
This is how I used to work out back in the HS days!
It still works! Lmao Now I need to invest in some long sleeve crop tops for the winter that look more appealing.
It was cold this morning and honestly I did not want to get my booty up to go workout this morning. I even laid back down and I don’t do that. The colder days are not going to be motivating to get my workouts in. At least my garage is warmer than outside.
I won’t let this determine my outcome, I’m not skipping a beat and I’m going all in!
13 Days To Go!
MAN— it feels good to be back in a routine .
When i am in my routine, my nutrition, hydration, sleep, and workout schedule are just more on track 👊🏼👊🏼 .
When all of those things are on track, i feel more energized & ready to take on this crazy world .
When i am ready to take on this crazy world, i never want to get off track because then i just feel CRAPPY 🤷🏼♀️
It is a forever journey that leads to huge accomplishments if you let yourself get into a routine too— accomplishments like telling yourself “I AM UNSTOPPABLE” .
One year ago today my book "My Accidental Diet" launched on Amazon. It was a very exciting day to watch my book climb the Amazon charts, making it to the number 3 position in several categories. I was thrilled, it was kind of a surreal experience. And, although I have not sold a million copies like I had hoped for...lol! I have sold a few copies, given away a few, got my book into a few local bookstores and into our local library system. Additionally, I know that my book has made a positive impact on a few people's lives. Just last week a woman that I had given a copy to came up to me with tears in her eyes and gave me a big hug. She went on to explain how much my book has helped her. She said she has already made changes that make so much sense and were helpful to her. She was full of joy and gratitude. This of course filled my heart! This is why I wrote this book. I want to share my story. I want to help other people discover new ways of doing things. I want people to stop dieting and start living with new healthy choices.
I am blessed that my lifelong dream of writing a book has become a reality. And I am blessed that it has helped a few people. My book is a success!! And that makes me very happy indeed!

When’s the last time you got a treatment here at Form + Function? I don’t know about you but every time we do, we feel a lot of clicks and clacks when getting worked on 😣
One of our clients asked us what those clicks and clacks are so we thought we’d share it with all of you!
👉After repeated movements, imbalances in posture, or during other situations where stress is put upon our bodies, a build-up of contracted muscle spindles, or knots, form.
👉The click and clack sound is the release in the joints, when tightened and shortened muscles are loosened by our awesome therapists at Form + Function allowing joints to move more freely and without restriction.
But don’t worry! This feeling can be somewhat painful at first but it’s totally worth it. It’s like adding oil to gears! 👍
📞 Book an appointment today to feel that click, clack, and pop you know you need!
This space was filled with about TWENTY 12 to 18 year olds, plus an awesome sauce mom of 7 kids, whom I lead in group fitness class weekly for our homeschool co-op PE. I LOVE fitness. I love to move my body. I love helping others push themselves and seeing them do the hard things even when it feels hard or impossible. It truly brings me joy and gives me life.
Just a little celebration of the part of me I’ve been able to dust off. It makes me come alive and gives this stay at home homeschool so much happiness. 😁 “Don't ask yourself what the world needs; ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”
🌱Seeing pictures side by side is a great way to see how far you've come. How much you've changed. Aesthetics doesn't have a thing to do with it. My mobility and being able to live my life does. All of that weight off my joints. Hardly being able to move. Being trapped in a prison of my own creation. The good news is, there is hope for everyone. If there ever was a lost cause, I was probably seen as one. Don't you ever let people convince you that you can't change, because anyone can given the tools to do so. There are times when I get to thinking about how I got here. I have to say having someone in my life that believed in me when I didn't yet believe in myself helped give me the confidence to stick it out until it all came together mentally for me. I have people in my life that love me, but Brandon was someone who held me accountable. Someone who even when I wanted to give up would never have let me. I know I've done the work to get here, but I'll always be thankful to Brandon for how he's blessed my life. So, thanks coach. Everyone needs someone in their life, so look at my example and know that I believe in you. I've done it and I am still doing it. You can be better. You can change. You can get your life back. You have to take it back though, no one can do the work for you.

Wildcraft Wednesday: 🍂Leaf Mandalas. 🍁I’ve been inspired by a group of women who have been preparing for spring by preserving fallen leaves and other nature nuggets and creating works of art for the Beltane festival. 🌾
🍂Though I’m not using dead leaves to prepare medicine, the labor that we spent cleaning up leaves, vines and brush today was invigorating. 💪Our bodies are thanking us. Movement in nature is restorative and medicinal.🌲Mandala making is very zen...unless you have a 3yo trying to help.
I realize there are endless ways to wildcraft autumn leaves. What do you like to do with them?🤲
#iamnotadancer and I don’t have a dancer’s feet. I have poor balance and poor precision. I am grateful for this class at @harvarddance because for 90 minutes twice a week, I am able to leave all of the work and anxiety behind and think only about bend and stretch and plié and telling my right from my left. #dowhatservesyou#selfcare#moveyourbody

Transformationtuesday it's insane to me that it took 25 years to change, but I did. I was overweight my entire life, afraid to die, and always a prisoner in own body. I felt as I was just existing, not living. At 25 years old I weighed 485lbs and had a BMI of 78. I was fedup. I was sick of being scared I was gonna die at a young age and that I was holding the people I cared about back aswell as myself. Dont forget the greatness inside of you or ever stop because of the time it takes. Start today! ‐----------------------------------

Just LOVE YOURSELF 🧡
Many people judge the fact that I’m anti diet and a Beachbody coach...🤯
I mean I get it when you see the words next to each other, but let me tell ya a lil something.. This is how I have found all the ways to truly love me, honor my mental health, and FEEL GOOD!
Practicing anti-dieting is not equivalent to just throwing away your health and giving up on it. It means that you embrace your body, stop believing you need to be a size-shape-or weight that society portrays as healthy, and instead you focus on being happy and free in your body.
Like moving your body in ways you enjoy 💪🏻 (Thank you home workouts that give me so many options)
Like eating things that make my body FEEL good, sometimes that’s tacos and daily that’s my shakeology (which FYI is not a weight loss shake).
Like practicing self love, gratitude, brain dumping and more so that I am focused on my mental health
Like surrounding myself with positive relationships and friendships that’s lift me up (thank you to my team hustle and inspire squad 👯♀️)
So before you judge the concept by just seeing the words next to each other know that they truly can coincide ❤️
✖️You’ll NEVER be 100% ready to take that next step.✖️
I hear ALL. THE. TIME how someone is waiting to start their fitness journey or waiting to do that thing or waiting to leave that relationship because: insert reason here.
Let’s get real, sis, and I’m telling you this out of love...
All of those “reasons” you’re waiting to start are just excuses. And I get it! Changing any part of your life and routine is hard. It’s scary. It’s unknown. It’s uncomfortable.
Guess what? You don’t have to be perfect to start. You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You are allowed to start your fitness journey and fail. WE ALL HAVE. Shoot, I’m living this lifestyle, health and wellness is my career and I’m getting other women to their dream bodies and I still fail from time to time.
Taking 2 steps forward and 1 step back is better than never starting at all.
So just start.
Fail over and over. That’s how you learn and grow. That’s how you change your life.
Do you really want that better body? Or do you just want to sit around and talk about it? The choice is yours. Think about how different your life can be in 3, 6, 9 months. You’re the one that can make it happen.
If you’re ready to start stepping into that better body, that better relationship with yourself— click the link in my bio to apply for coaching today. I’m ready 😈
Never thought a little intention of getting more time together in 2019 would result in WEEKLY dates this year. So blessed to have close friends on our street to do date swaps with ❤️ We went over 10 years without regular dates. Honestly it always seemed like too much work to organize, especially when it was rare I didn't have a young nursling. It was a season of lots of family time and date nights in...but now our tweens stay up as late as us! So this new season, support, and freedom has been awesome! The weekly standing date ensures we get at least a few hours of quiet time and reflection together...and not having to think about scheduling it is soo refreshing (decision fatigue is real y'all). We actually get to finish conversations! 😆
Hiking and searching out the best food in town was what we loved doing together before kids, so naturally we often choose to hike (new and old familiar trails) and eat (of course)! We are really bad about getting pictures together, but I'm a little more consistent about taking food pics 😋
So here you are folks - my better half. My best friend...the engine and the compass when our circus feels more like a crazy train that's about to crash. He brings me back to homeostasis time and time again, and I am so incredibly grateful for his patience, support, emotional intelligence, hard work, and vision!!! Getting outside away from the city is always a great balance to the concentrated life with kids at home. #getoutside#moveyourbody#maketimeforeachother

"No matter who we are, there are times when we will feel down, when things will feel difficult, when things will feel tough and we will want to give up. Successful people have the same problem too. They face times when they feel down, stuck in life and want to quit. The only difference between successful people and ordinary people lies in how they deal with this situation." When I want to quit something I think about why I started. ✨ What do you do?
Just a little reminder to:
⚡Drink your water (half your body weight in ounces daily!)
⚡Move your body for 30 minutes
⚡Love yourself & others
Have a wonderful rest of your day! ❤
Sugar is my drug and I am addicted! .
There, I said it. I mean we all love sweet treats, right? But there is a huge difference between just having a craving for something and needing it for a sense of comfort, fulfillment and sanity. When your anxiety level goes up because you want it so bad but are trying to resist it. When you are willing to throw all your hard work away for just a little fix. Actually, there is no such thing as a little fix. When I give in I binge eat it like I’m never going to get it again. .
I am just getting over being really sick and basically living off of popsicles, ice cream and any warm liquid. My eating was not the best but I’m ok with it because I was sick and just wanted to have things that would help my throat. I was fine being easy on myself while I was sick but once I felt better then I needed to get back on track. .
Here I am on day 2 of getting back on track because all last week when I was trying to get “back on track” I kept giving in to my temptations.
I am determined to do it but the sugar cravings today have been insane! I was just about to give in again when I remembered all that I have been learning. I remembered that I needed to do something else in place of what I was trying to avoid and SO I DID! I put on my walking shoes and went for a walk. .
It helped get my mind off of the sugar and as a bonus, I got my 30 minutes of movement in for the day. I’m feeling pretty proud of this small victory!
Some days you start off feeling great, invisible, and like you’re made of glowing cosmic dust on the inside and you are capable of achieving ANYTHING...then mile 2 is over and there’s 4 more left to go and you start doubting yourself, talking down to yourself, and negotiating how you can stop early, with the voice in your head that’s on a loop telling you how much you are suffering (as if you weren’t aware). Mile 4 happens and you’re walking. Only 0.2 miles, but now you’re pissed at yourself for even walking again, you think “how are you ever gonna get to the finish line at THIS pace?!”. Then you cue the trap music and cue the carefully curated loop of mental videos that literally start reeling every ounce of anger into your body until you crank the treadmill up to your sprinting pace and start slamming your feet down so fast and hard you don’t know if you’re running fast or trying to punch a hole in the treadmill with your feet because you’re freaking so angry!! It only lasts about 1/4 mile before you want to burst into tears and walk again to calm down, and you don’t cry but you feel this slime in your gut and wish all the miles in the world could pull it out of you. Your anger scares you because you realize it’s one part a purge from generations of anger and trauma, and another part your own anger at having to carry it in the first place. Then you buck up and feel relieved that it’s coming out in a safe space and moving through you, so you KEEP MOVING, and running, and breathing. Moving our body is SO DAMN important. For health reasons sure, but mainly for MENTAL health reasons. We carry more energy in us than we’re ever aware of and in order to tap into our HIGHEST potential and our light, we have to sift and shed through the guck! There is no “easy” way of doing it. You “Just do it” as @nike put it! Move. Your. Body. EVERY DAY. no excuses. Let’s go!!✨🙌🏼
#handstand#play with the feeling that my arms are bigger than my legs! Loving how @erinkellyart is progressing yoga into fluidity & freedom of movement with graceful creative sequences.
Why stick to same old same old ... get creative on your mat.
As a teacher I was already stepping into new moves, this training solidifies my beliefs.
Wohoo! A moment of celebration for me.
I just completed my 80th walk up the Mt.🙌 On the 1st January 2019 I set the intention to walk up the Mt 100 throughout the year.
Today marks my 80th walk and I'm damn proud of that achievement so I'm publicly acknowledging it.
This goal has meant so much more to me than just walking up the Mt.
I've come to grow and learn as a person.
I've learnt more about myself, who I am on a soul level.
I've reflected, and healed from past issues.
I've created mini challenges like seeing how fast I can run down the Mt.
I've shown up, put one foot in front of the other and kept going.
I've kept this goal front and centre. I've not let it slip into the background of my consciousness.
Don't get me wrong, there's been challenges along the way. But I've showed up. I've kept going.
When things don't go our way it can be easy to give up.
But my friend, that's when we need to keep going the most.
Action is what makes goals achievable.
If you've got a goal or challenge you're currently working on, my advice is to keep going.
Even if it's tough right now.
Reflect on the successes you've had to date and keep going.
You can do this.
You've got this.
Believe in yourself and great things will happen.
The REAL reason I market clean wine......
I am about to get super vulnerable with you all. I want to share the REAL reason I decided to join the movement and hustle clean-crafted wine.
Yes I love wine, yes I care about clean living, yes I LOVE being able to help mamas swap a toxic product for a clean one. But none of those are the REAL reason I do this.
When I got pregnant with my son (the baby in the pic). I decided I wanted to know everything there was to know about a healthy pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum. I wanted to know how to raise a healthy child. I went down a rabbit hole of it all. This information led to the shocking reality of what women's healthcare looks like in our country. What is done TO women without informed consent. How they are treated and left feeling like they don't have options. Then left to "figure it out" when the baby is 6 weeks old. Like WTF. The system is not set up for families to be optimally healthy, and it saddens and angers me to my core.
That is why I started my wellness brand @withyouwellnesskc .
So why market clean wine too you might ask?
Because I need an entry point. I need a way to start conversations about wellness. I need a way to expand my network. I need a way to get in front of more mamas. I need a way to make MONEY while I sit here and create FREE content to help mamas! I need a way to fund the business that will change lives one day. If I can do all of that while promoting a product that takes toxins out of people's lives, and sparks them to make other changes in their lives, then sounds like a win win to me! .
What is the REAL reason you do what you do?
📷 @loveandlumos .
Ever have those days that you just believe deep inside life owes you a bowl of coconut ice cream? I’ve learned to head for the juice instead...a green smoothie and grand slam will nip that “craving” to cope with the days via sugar! And water, amen? Lots of water! And...a long walk to close out the day! Okay...maybe one more in my post that just got too long...a highly anticipated talk with my man over dinner. It’s just what my future needs for solid fuel! What’s your go-to for a picker upper?
Do you like fall weather? 🎃 .
I ❤️ everything about fall.
I ❤️ the leaves changing colors🍁🍂🌿
I ❤️ the crisp air
I ❤️ that it’s time for hoodies, bonfires & boots. 🔥 👢 .
It’s perfect time to get off your butt & get outside.
Rake leaves, take care of the summer garden or go for a walk.
Take your favorite four legged friend along with you. 🐶 .
Breath in the fresh air
Move your body
Don’t ever forget how fortunate you are to be able to do so. .
Just a shoutout to the one who supports me every day and helps to push me to be my best @brandentripi ☺️ I couldn’t imagine days without our smiles and laughs. I hope that all of you ladies thank the special ones in your lives! Let them know how grateful you are ❤️
I love my virtual workouts and the flexibility they give me to fit in a workout whenever and wherever I am but I’ve been craving getting back into running! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The good news? I can do both! My virtual workouts are only 20-30 minutes so I can schedule a few runs in a week to supplement my workout programs! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Today I started a training program through @runkeeper and did some speed work. 🏃♀️ With only 3 runs a week, I’ll be balancing speed work with tempo runs and increasing distances.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’re a runner without a cross-training plan, I HIGHLY recommend looking into a program that will help you avoid injuries and stay healthy! I used to ONLY run and experienced I jury after injury. This time I’m much more confident knowing that my body is better prepared through a balanced workout regime! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Questions about what I’m doing? Send a DM! If you’re a runner or know a runner, drop a note below and I’ll follow back! I love cheering on others working towards a similar passion!
1️⃣ confidence and comfort in my body
2️⃣ help others feel confident and comfortable in their body no matter what the scale says .
- Don’t wait for the new year to start taking better care of yourself. Start now. .
- Don’t use the holidays as an excuse to eat and drink whatever you want. Practice healthy habits, moderation in everything, and proper portions. .
- Wear clothing that fits you, don’t try to squeeze into the size you think you should be.
- Cut back on the alcohol so when you do have a drink the extra calories won’t matter. You’ll enjoy it more.
- Get up and move. Take the stairs, park farther away, rake the leaves, clean your house, try a new class at your local gym.
- Don’t use the end of this year to pressure yourself into believing you haven’t achieved enough this year. Instead reflect on all you have done. .
- Dont obsess over your goals. You can enjoy your life and still be mindful of your health.
