Holiday art: Mummy and Teddy. #witchcat#witch#blackcatlove My Mummy’s today. She’s haded a relaxing day in the hot sunshine and gotted her paints out. She’s says this is me and her, enjoying just a little bit of magic by the light of the moon. I’m thinking it’s amazing my Mummy will now let me be part of her magical world. I’ve promised her I’ll be as good as a good thing what is good when I’m sitting on her broomstick. This is Teddy the Mystic Broomstick Rider Cat signing off for today and feeling very happy.#blackcat#artistsoninstagram#artist#apprentice#broomstickrider

🗝🥀 VIRGINITY 🥀🗝
A glimpse in my sketchbook at a recent piece inspired by the classic fairytale Bluebeard. Bluebeard also influenced my newest poem, Insignificant, that you can watch me perform on my YouTube channel (link in bio 🔗) ~
In preparation for my next uni module I’ve been reading a lot of fairytales. Most of which - including Bluebeard - are packed with loads of sexual symbolism. Bluebeard in particular has very heavy themes of virginity - primarily regarding female virginity.
As a woman, virginity is a complicated concept. It’s tied up in fear, physical pain, overwhelming emotions and a long history. From the pure, innocent bride all dressed in white to the sinful prostitute to the old spinster; there are a lot of intimidating images attached to losing your virginity. Then there’s the added slut-shaming, prude-shaming and the dismissal of female-female sex as “not real sex”. Overall, losing your virginity can be a scary thing. ~
Of course, it can also be a very nice thing to share with someone - whether you’re in love with them or not. However, for a lot of women (and I’m sure men and non-binary people too) losing your virginity is a difficult experience. But you can work through that experience and come to terms with any negative and overwhelming feelings through open and honest conversations with loved ones, counsellors or therapists as well as through art, writing and other forms of creativity. For me, this drawing and the corresponding poem are part of that process 👩🏼🎨
A small peek of my first ever music video. John took a chance on me with directing his poignant and truth filled song, "Slave To Me". We had to find a location, a certain style, and mood that fit with the content. It was truly collaborative work of art. I am forever grateful to John for believing in me and for taking a chance. The full video will be released on 8/30/19.
So, i did this portrait for the beautiful @r.aine because she's super cute 😊 as her looks💜. I also love her work so i just had to draw her!! 😻💜 i also add some stickers because i wanted to add some color to the drawing, so i chose the things i know she likes(amethyst and lavender) 💐
